  Legal abortion hangs by a razor-thin 5-4 margin in the US Supreme Court. In fact, the Supreme Court almost overturned Roe v. Wade in 1992. The possible retirement of 2 Justices could allow anti-abortion President Bush to pack the Court with anti-abortion Justices who would vote to overturn Roe v. Wade, relegating women to back alley abortions.

Soon you may have the opportunity to save women's lives.

As you know, the right to legal abortion hangs by a razor-thin 5-4 margin in the U.S. Supreme Court. If one or more Justices retire, President Bush could try to pack the court with anti-abortion Justices, relegating women to the days of back-alley abortions.

In such an event, I urge you to use your position of influence to lead a filibuster in the Senate. With your courage and leadership, the voices of your - and America's - daughters, sisters, and grand-daughters will ring out in Washington: "We won’t go back!"
